The Unofficial Guide to Cruises

The Unofficial Guide to Cruises, starts off talking about the past and future cruising. The book has three overall parts to it which include, planning your cruise, cruise lines and their ships and cruising alternatives. This book also carries fifteen different maps. The main purpose for this book is for the readers to select the perfect cruise for them. The authors also talk about how this book is “unofficial” guide because they if something is wrong with a ship they wrote about it. What makes this book so unique is how it carries all of the maps. It is very helpful to know exactly where you are going.

Stern's Guide to the Cruise Vacation

Stern’s Guide to the Cruise Vacation is written for people that have never gone on a cruise and it also gives them an idea of what to expect. This book has many different chapters that range from getting ready for the cruise to cruising with joggers. Each chapter is special because they are all so different. The author also wrote about restaurants, beaches, points of interest, what different sport activities there are and some things you can do on shore in a small amount of time. This book is unique because I feel like the author went into a lot of different chapters with sports. He must be a very athletic person because he goes into so much detail about each one.

Florida Handbook

A Handbook of Florida is a book mostly about all the counties, cities and towns of Florida. Each place they name in the book has at least a page of detailed information about it. From the time the town was born to what historical invents happened in them. The beach towns are the most interesting because the author talks about what beaches are the most populated and what all you can do at that specific beach. This book also goes into detail about the railroads in Florida also. This book is unique because it has so much information about each county.

Moon Florida Beahces

This book is all about the beaches of Florida. There are about seventeen chapters that each start off with and introduction of which beaches are the best in that specific area. The chapters also include maps which have numbers on them to describe where everything is. They have phone numbers and street addresses too. When focused in on a certain beach the author also wrote about historical sites and other attractions. This book is unique because it is so thorough on each individual beach. Good Ol' Florida

Frommer's Florida is a book all about Florida. This book starts off with a few maps of Florida. In the first chapter it goes over the “best” of Florida, such as beaches, cities, fishing, resorts, ect. It also talks about the people and past of Florida. It has another chapter that goes over the expenses and planning trips to Florida. It has its own chapter on the everglades too. This book is unique because it has a wide variety of things it talks about. This book does not support my thesis because it does not support that I think cruises are more fun than the beach.

If you want to look at this book you can go to this website, http://books.google.com/books?id=P3PD7yQzVlkC&printsec=frontcover&dq=frommer's+florida&cd=3#v=onepage&q=&f=false

Festivities at the Beach

A Week at the Beach is a book written about 100 life changes things you can do at the beach. The book may be long but if your looking for some good things to do you should definitely read it.
It even says in the book that you should use it as a journal. After every suggestion the authors left a space so you can write in it for your own person enjoyment. I thought that was a pretty cool idea! Another thing i really likes was the fact that some of the ideas made you do things you may never think of, such as following someones foot steps in the sand. You may never know where you end up! I really enjoyed this book I think you will too. The website to the book is http://books.google.com/books?id=R2bAF_78-L0C&printsec=frontcover&dq=beach+activities&cd=6#v=onepage&q=beach%20activities&f=false. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

To Cruise or Not to Cruise

Over the years when I talk to people about vacationing on the beach someone normally chimes in to talk about a cruise. My question is which is better going on a cruise or vacationing? This website http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/12058/cruises/to_cruise_or_not_to_cruise.html states that you haven't truely lived until you have been on a cruise. I have been on a cruise and I agree. There is nothing like being on a cruise!

Beach Poem

I was looking at some poems about the beach and this was my favorite!

At The Beach

You roll down the window
And even before you see it
You smell that salty, ocean scent
You already know your there
At the beach

Where the breeze is best
Where the sun is most powerful
Mother Nature’s birthplace
At the beach

There so much to do
Starting from building sand castles
To finding shells so odd looking
To riding tsunami on your surfboard
To tanning yourself like bread in the toaster
To fishing with your grandpa
To snorkeling with fish
To going on cruises
To riding a dolphin
Just so much to do
The list is as big as space
As long as infinity
At the beach

As you walk on the shore
You see the sky red as the sun sits on the water
You feel the sand filling the gaps between your toes
You hear the soothing sounds of the waves
At the beach

Some claim to see the most wondrous things
Like beautiful mermaids sitting on rocks
Or the mysterious Loch Ness Monster
And even the lost city of Atlantis
At the beach

There nothing better than the beach
Where beauty was given its name
Where Happiness cannot be expressed
At the beach

14 days

Only 14 more days before I leave for Florida!

Some people may be nervous about flying but I actually kind of enjoy it. It's mostly because when I get on the plane I know im about to go somewhere new or fun! It is gonna be even more fun since I will be with my friends instead of just family on the plane.
